Considering the extensive Russia-China cooperation and to provide a full visa support for the growing number of Chinese citizens visiting Russia, a new Visa Centre was opened in Guangzhou on December 20, 2016 (www.russiavisa.cn). The Centre provides a convenient visa application submission process. At the same time individual applicants have the right to apply for a visa personally at the Russian Consulate General in Guangzhou if they have an electronic appointment. Holders of multiple-entry visas are limited to overall or continual stay of 90 days during each period of 180 days starting with day of first entry.
The Consulate General in Guangzhou is not authorized to renew visas issued by other agencies.
In case the Consulate General does not issue a visa, the submitted invitation will not be returned.
Incomplete Visa Application Forms shall not be processed.
The Consulate General is authorized to request any supplementary documents and information in regard of the application.
For visitors traveling as a group the complete set of documents should be provided by each person.
The applicant should apply for visa personally or authorize another person by Power of Attorney.
Citizens of all Schengen countries, Israel, Finland, Estonia and Lithuania are to provide medical insurance for the whole period of stay in Russia or a written guarantee for all medical expenses to be borne by the receiving party.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR A PAPER VISA:
- Original passport and a copy of the main page (passport should contain minimum 2 empty pages for visas, validity of the passport should be not less than 6 months from the end of the requested visa);
- A filled in and printed out visa application form (one per person). The form must filled in online at https://visa.kdmid.ru/PetitionChoice.aspx, and printed out and signed by the applicant. One colored passport-size photo should be attached to the application form.
The documents required to obtain visas for the Russian Federation can be submitted to the Consulate General of Russia in Guangzhou directly only if there is an appointment made prior to the visit. An appointment can be made at http://guangzhou.kdmid.ru/queue-en/.
Attention! If on the day of applying for a visa there is no appointment or you are late, you must make an appointment once again.
Documents for different visa types:
BUSINESS VISA:
- Visa application form (to be filled at and printed out from https://visa.kdmid.ru)
- A letter of invitation issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia or a Russian enterprise (only for citizens of China, EU, USA, Japan, India, Switzerland and Iran)
- Passport copy
HUMANITARIAN VISA:
- Visa application form (to be filled at and printed out from https://visa.kdmid.ru)
- A letter of invitation (only original is accepted) issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, MFA of Russia or a company (only for citizens of the PRC, EU, USA, Japan, India, Switzerland and Iran)
- Passport copy
TOURIST VISA:
- Visa application form (to be filled at and printed out from https://visa.kdmid.ru)
- Confirmation letter issued by any authorized Russian travel agency (an original, for US citizen photocopy is accepted) or booking confirmation photocopy (from one of the hotels mentioned in the consolidated hotel list)
- Tourist insurance
- Passport copy
PRIVATE VISA:
- Visa application form (to be filled at and printed out from https://visa.kdmid.ru)
- A letter of invitation issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
or
- An original application filled by the Russian citizen to issue a visa to a close relative signed by the Russian citizen at the Consulate or at the Visa Application Centre. In case a Russian citizen is not in China, he/she can attest his/her signature on the said application at a Russian notary office and send the original to the applicant.
- Copy of the Applicant relative internal and external passports (including photo, name and address pages).
- The original document confirming the relationship between the Russian citizen and the applicant or its notarized copy.
- Medical insurance covering at least 90 days of stay in Russia.
Please note that such a visa can be single- or double-entry valid for 3 months or multiple-entry valid for 1 year.
Processing time:
- 5 working days for a single- or double-entry visa,
- 10 working days for a multiple-entry visa.
WORK VISA:
- Visa application form (to be filled at and printed out from https://visa.kdmid.ru)
- A letter of invitation issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
- A negative HIV-certificate (an original and its photocopy).

STUDENT VISA:

Visa transfer (visa reissuance)
Required documents:
1. Passport and a copy of its main page (passport should contain minimum 2 empty pages for visas, validity of the passport – 1,5 years from the beginning of the requested visa)
2. A copy of the main page of the old/lost passport and a copy of the visa page
3. One coloured photo (3.5 cm x 4.5cm)
4. Visa application form (to be filled at and printed out from https://visa.kdmid.ru)
5. A letter of request to transfer/reissue a visa
6. A copy of the passport page with a Chinese visa (only for third-country nationals)
Visa for temporary stay
1. Passport and copy of its main page (passport should contain minimum 2 empty pages for visas, validity of the passport – 1,5 years from the beginning of the requested visa)
2. One coloured photo (3.5 cm x 4.5cm)
3. Visa application form (to be filled in at and printed out from https://visa.kdmid.ru)
4. A written decision of the Migration department of the Ministry of internal affairs of Russia about the temporary residence permit issuance
5. A negative HIV-certificate (original and copy), validity of the certificate – 3 months
6. A copy of the passport page with a Chinese visa (only for third-country nationals)
Passengers of cruise vessels
Please be advised that registered passengers of cruise vessels going offshore at Russian seaports enjoy a visa waiver for 72 hours if:
- The cruise vessel stays in a Russian port for less than 72 hours;
- Passengers stay overnight on board of the ship;
- Passengers disembark within an organized tour group;
- Passengers have a valid passport and a tour ticket.
If you have a connecting flight at the same terminal within 24 hours (e.g. Beijing– Moscow – Houston) and stay in the transit zone, no visa is required.
Please, clarify the need for a transit visa with your air company.
If you travel to the Republic of Belarus or other destinations when you have to change airports please make sure that you possess a transit visa.

The consular visa fee depends on applicant's citizenship.
The visa fee is to be paid at the time of applying for a visa.
In case the application is refused, visa fee will not be refunded.
